Wild Australian Drop Bear by mintconspiracy Wild Australian Drop Bear by mintconspiracy
I'm endlessly amused by the Australian legend of the drop bear. What's not to love about scaring tourists with warnings of fierce, carnivorous koalas that'll drop down on their heads? We need a similar legend here in Florida.

This guy's mine and won't be listed in the shop, but I might make others for sale someday.

(Synthetic fur, fleece, felt, safety eyes/nose)

That is so cool! And yes, telling tourists about drop bears is one of the most amusing things you could ever do. :P

I love the whole Drop Bear thing! :evillaugh: I understand why you wouldn't want to sell him, but if you made another one I'm sure it would be really popular. :)

Thanks! I do have a pattern for him, so I'm sure I'll eventually be inspired to make a few for sale. I liked this one so much that I wrote him into a manuscript I'm currently shopping to literary agents -- selling him would be like selling one of my characters. ;)

I do that too often with my OOAK plush toys! I wrote a story about them forming an army of sorts. :)

So you're planning on making a children's book? Right up your alley, the art style you do will look fantastic!

The book w/ the drop bear is actually an 80k-word chick lit manuscript -- drop bears and chick lit sound like a strange combo, but it all makes sense in context. ;) I do want to write and illustrate a Somethings children's book at some point, though. The concept's been brewing in my head for a year or two. ^_^
